Boundary. Value

Limit. Value. Limit Value. As term for the maximum permissible disturbance value, for the greatest allowable deviation from a prescribed norm, the proposition of limit values within the limitless realm of music in its turn represents a disturbance factor beyond what is artistically acceptable. Or, to put it the other way round: what is without limit has neither shape nor form. It cannot make an appearance; it eludes perception as well as understanding. It is everything – and at the same time nothing.

French music. Is there such a thing? In the 21st century? And if so – how does one define the maximum permissible value of "world" that can be absorbed by the French (or indeed any other idiom) before it disappears?

What is dream, what reality when we speak of music? How real are the dream worlds of Vivier and Kyriakides? And how unreal is Varèse’s objectivity? Is each concert, as the kind of experience par excellence in which time comes to a halt, not in any case always a dream world? A real one, of course.

La Sindone di Torino – doubt, love and hope, materialised in the form of a piece of cloth. The shroud, which is kept safe at Milan Cathedral, clearly shows the image of a dead body bearing the marks of abuse and torture that Jesus of Nazareth had to suffer according to the corresponding reports of the Synoptic Gospels. more

Those who remain within an enclosure of their own can have their peace. Hopefully. Unless, of course, two (or more) souls, alas, are housed within their breast. One can come up against boundaries and their values – unless one simply wants to play with them.
