Gerhard Alt, Production Management

Gerhard Alt, born in 1963, trained as classical ballet dancer. He took part in a number of workshops in Modern Dance, as well as participating in the Wiener Tanzfestwochen, and collaborated with choreographer Bernd Bienert in his piece Visions fugitives. He also worked in film, video and various theatre productions, such as Das Fehlurteil (‘Wrongful Conviction’) and Späte Gegend ('Late Country'), both at the Volkstheater Wien.

From 1992, Gerhard Alt has worked exclusively for the theatre: as author and director as well as assistant director, production and stage manager; at the Volkstheater Wien, the RuhrTriennale, the Salzburg Festival and the festival in Bad Hersfeld. He participated in productions directed by Peter Stein, Robert Wilson, Frank Castorf, Claus Peymann, Johan Simons, Hans Neuenfels, Michael Thalheimer, Barbara Frey, Alain Platel, Jan Fabre, Arie Zinger and Christoph Marthaler.
