Sonia Turchetta, Mezzo-soprano

Born in Naples. Studied singing, piano, and composition at the conservatory "Guiseppe Verdi" in Milan, where she is teaching now. Her repertoire comprises music from the middle Ages to contemporary compositions, many of which were written especially for her. She sings concerts and operas in nine languages. Numerous performances, incl. in the Milano Scala, la Fenice/Venice, Maggio Musicale/Florence, at the Berlin Festival and IRCAM in Paris.
