Sophie Schafleitner, violin
Sophie Schafleitner was born in 1974 in Salzburg. After her training at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Irmgard Gahl she embarked on a special study course for concert violin at the University of Music in Vienna, taught by Gerhard Schulz.
She has been performing at festivals such as Wien Modern, Hörgänge and Vienna Festival both as a soloist and as a member of the Klangforum Wien, which she joined in 1997.
In addition to her focus on contemporary music she also plays classical chamber music and became Gerhard Schulz’s assistant at the University of Music in Vienna in 2003.
