Anders Nyqvist, trumpet
Swedish born trumpet player, Anders Nyqvist, started playing the trumpet at the age of 10. After graduating from school in his home town of Trollhättan, he was offered a scholarship to study music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. There he has studied trumpet and voice, before turning himself exclusively to the later. After living in Hong Kong for three years, he was later awarded with a scholarship which allowed him to continue his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London. During and after his student years he was fortunate to study with some of the best teachers, and perform with some of the greater orchestras and artists of our time. Since 2004, he is a member of Klangforum Wien.
The opportunity to interact with composers, creating new sounds, having an opinion and being a part of a creative process is for him a very essential part of making music. He has been performing as a soloist and chamber musician in most of the major festivals and concert venues and regularly conducts master classes in Europe and Asia.
