Benedikt Leitner, cello
Benedikt Leitner was born in Vienna and began his cello studies at the age of seven.
He studied with Hedy Feierl at the Konservatorium Wien and with Valentin Erben at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts and obtained his diploma in 1990. His musical skills and education were improved by a wide attendance to master classes held by Serge Collot for chamber music, Günter Pichler and Tobias Kühne.
He has performed at several festivals, radio and CD recordings in Europe, the USA and Japan, both as a soloist and chamber musician and member of the Klangforum Wien, which he joined in 1990.
