Angelika Luz, Soprano
Angelika Luz was educated at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart (voice and piano) and has since been engaged for numerous European performances. Her roles range from Monteverdi’s Poppea and Mozart’s Queen of the Night to contemporary musical theatre (e.g., in the premiere of Fredrik Zeller’s „Irma Vep" at the Schwetzinger Festspiele in 2003 and that of Brian Ferneyhough’s „Shadowtime" at the Munich Biennale in 2004). Numerous radio and CD recordings, as well as appearances at the Festival Agora in Paris, the Berliner Festwochen, at Éclat in Stuttgart, at the Ludwigsburger Festspiele, and at Warschauer Herbst, document the singer’s strong interest in contemporary music. She is associated above all with the Neue Vocalsolisten in chamber music and experimental work.
She has been teaching modern vocal music at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart since 1998, and together with the ensemble v.act, a group she founded, she frequently presents productions that combine music, theatre, and multimedia.
