Markus Deuter, oboe

Born in 1961 in Mühlheim, Ruhr in Germany. First oboe lessons with Johann Baptist Schlee, subsequently with Diethelm Jonas and W. Feist (Essen), H. Hucke (Cologne), P. Dombrecht (Brussels). Studied Performance of Old Music with H. Ruf (Cologne). 

Winner of the Austrian National Competition "Young Musician" 1975, 1977, 1979, 1981. Awarded a scholarship three times by the Oskar und Vera Ritter Foundation. In 1978 won the Culture Prize of the city of Mühlheim, Ruhr. 1975-1980, member of the Federal Youth Orchestra. Member of various chamber music groups such as "Bläseroktett Sabine Meyer”, "Zelenka Ensemble”, "Aulos Quintett”. Oboist with the "Munich Chamber Orchestra". 

First oboist with the Cologne Chamber Orchestra, Neues Orchester Köln, Bach Collegium Stuttgart, Abrieli Consort and Players. From 1989 -1993 he has been oboist with Musikfabrik NRW under the direction of Johannes Kalitzke. Diverse radio and CD productions. 
He has been a member of Klangforum Wien since 1995.
